Description

Heather Hardy stimulates the imagination and grabs your attention right from the start with her soulful songs. Winner of the 2013 Maine Songwriting Contest and earning 2nd place in the 2012 New England Songwriting Contest, Heather Hardy writes masterful lyrics that seize the imagination while her music sparks an emotional response. The intensity never wanes, and her spirited storytelling is an exploration of narratives deep within us all.

Heather Hardy is known as a gifted songwriter and a teacher of music to all ages. She involves her audience through superb timing and articulation and has opened up for acts such as Dave Mallet and Kate Schrock, continuing to play every chance she gets. Heather Hardy uses an exquisite variety of sounds from singing and humming, chanting and howling, with a particular gift for the mouth trumpet. Her unique talents extend to the ukulele and playing her guitar like a stand-up bass.

Her album Howl is a rich blend of songs, full of melodies that will leave you humming softly to yourself for the rest of the afternoon. Each song tells a story, and within those stories she uses engaging lyrics and dynamic sounds as her characters tell their tales.

Heather lives in Maine, where she enjoys teaching music and studying nature.

“Heather Hardy is a dynamic & original talent. She is a gifted musician and entertainer with beautiful soulful wit and wisdom. Heather set the tone for a successful musical evening. The audience (and I!) loved her stories and gorgeous music. “

Kate Schrock

“Our music festival has developed a loyal following and the audience response to Heather Hardy’s opening performance was the best of any we’ve had in the last several years. At times humorous, at times serious, always smart and lyrical, she held the stage with her engaging presence and gorgeous vocals.”

Steven Hufnagel, Executive Director of the Damariscotta River Association
