Love and a .38 is a blue-collar American rock band built on grit, determination, and an unwavering commitment to doing things their own way. Formed by four musicians from different corners of the country who found each other in Los Angeles, the band has spent its career creating the kind of honest, unapologetic rock and roll they grew up loving.
Independent from day one, Love and a .38 has remained proudly DIY—writing, recording, producing, promoting, and building a worldwide following through hard work, creativity, and relentless touring. Without the backing of a major label or management, they’ve earned a loyal international fanbase while staying true to a simple philosophy: it’s all rock and roll.
Their self-titled debut EP introduced audiences to a band that refused to chase trends, establishing a growing fanbase throughout Southern California and overseas. The momentum continued with the release of their acclaimed full-length album, Nomads, in 2016, earning praise from critics on both sides of the Atlantic. Revolver Magazine described the record as “a hard-rocking Foo Fighters cruising through the desert,” while Midlands Rocks called it “rock as God intended it to be.”
The band’s 2018 EP, 7th Street Shuffle, expanded their signature sound while preserving the raw energy and authenticity that define Love and a .38. Touring in support of the release took them throughout the United States and internationally, including performances in Mexico, Canada, and Sweden.
Along the way, Love and a .38 has shared the stage with Steel Panther, Dead Sara, Rival Sons, Mötley Crüe, Slash, Marilyn Manson, Bad Religion, and Black Label Society. The band has also appeared at SXSW, the Sunset Strip Music Festival, and the Blue Feather Music Festival in the Yukon Territories, Canada, and has become a regular performer at the official NAMM afterparty.
When live music paused in 2020, the band never stopped creating. Instead, they focused on writing and releasing a series of independent singles that became some of their strongest streaming successes to date.
Today, Love and a .38 continues to write, record, and perform with the same passion that has fueled them from the beginning. Their growing catalog of powerful, guitar-driven rock is equally at home on festival stages, in film and television, and anywhere authentic rock music belongs.
