Biography

Music has always been a part of her life. Playing piano entirely by ear as a child, she first learned on a family piano that had once belonged to her Aunt Elsie, a gifted classical pianist and vocalist. Inspired by the music she heard around her, she quickly progressed from recreating familiar melodies to composing original instrumental pieces and, eventually, writing songs with her own lyrics.

Her passion for music led her to formal piano studies during high school before pursuing music as a college music major, where she continued developing her skills as both a pianist and songwriter.

At the age of twenty-one, deeply moved by the human impact of the Vietnam War, she wrote “Dream Dream Soldier,” an original composition featuring her own music, lyrics, and vocal harmonies. Believing in the song’s message, she submitted it to Capitol Records, which responded with an encouraging request for additional material.

That opportunity inspired her next composition, “If I Had Hindsight.” While the first half of the song came easily, the ending remained unfinished until after a brief stay in Hawaii. Returning home with a renewed sense of inspiration, she completed the second half in just twenty minutes, bringing the song together exactly as she had envisioned.

Over the years, she has continued writing music that reflects both life’s experiences and her personal faith. Her catalog includes inspirational and Christian compositions alongside her contemporary songwriting, each marked by heartfelt lyrics, memorable melodies, and an honest, uplifting message. Whether writing about hope, reflection, or the human journey, her music is rooted in authenticity and a genuine desire to connect with listeners through song.
